Some couples plan one wedding day.
Cam and Frank planned an experience.
Their story unfolded in two chapters. First, an intimate mountain elopement in Colorado. Then, a full scale destination wedding celebration with disco balls, velvet, and lakeside bonfires.
Both days were completely different. Both days were completely them.
And that is exactly how a wedding should feel.

If you are searching for a Colorado elopement photographer, this is why people choose the mountains.
Cam and Frank chose to elope near the Slate River just outside of Crested Butte. Wildflowers everywhere. The kind of mountain views that make you pause mid sentence. No timeline pressure. No audience. Just the two of them.
They had a private first look by the river.
They read vows that felt more like journal entries than scripts.
They danced in the rain.
They laid out a picnic and soaked it in.

Cam wore an ethereal dress paired with a wildflower crown that felt pulled straight from the landscape. Frank wore a green suit with vintage suspenders that felt timeless without trying too hard.

This was not a production.
It was quiet, intentional, and deeply personal.
When couples tell us they want their wedding to feel like them and not like a photoshoot, this is what they mean.
Colorado elopements are not about running away. They are about choosing presence.
And Crested Butte delivers that in every direction you look.

After their Colorado elopement, Cam and Frank gathered everyone they love for a full destination wedding celebration in New Jersey.
If the elopement was quiet and grounded, this day was expressive and electric.
Their vibe? Woodstock meets disco.

There were disco balls reflecting light across velvet linens.
A pastel checkered dance floor.
A hanging floral installation.
Parasols during the ceremony.
Bubbles floating near the fountain.
A koi pond cocktail hour.
A flower bar for guests.
A Polaroid guest book.
A retro sticker machine featuring their cats.

They even had a custom newspaper stand called The Lucky in Love Ledger and haikuists writing personalized poems during cocktail hour.
It was layered. Playful. Thoughtful. Personal.
And underneath all of it was the same connection we saw on the river in Colorado.
That is what we care about most.

More couples are realizing they do not have to choose one version of their wedding.
You can:
There are no rules.
Cam and Frank met in New Orleans. Took a six month cross country road trip. Eventually settled in Denver. They love concerts, pickleball, their cats, and building experiences that feel intentional.
Of course they were never going to do something traditional just because it was expected.
Their Colorado elopement gave them space to be fully present.
Their destination wedding gave them space to celebrate loudly.
Both mattered. Both were real.
We photograph and film weddings across Colorado, including Crested Butte, Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and the mountain towns in between. We also travel for destination weddings across the country and internationally.
Whether you are dreaming of:
We are here for the experience, not just the photos.
Cam and Frank’s wedding was not about trends. It was about choosing what felt right for them in two completely different settings.
If you are planning a Colorado elopement or destination wedding and want your day documented in a way that feels true, connected, and fully lived in, we would love to talk.
Because the best weddings are not the ones that look perfect.
They are the ones that feel like you.
